Research & Projects
A collection of UX research, academic projects, and industry collaborations spanning inclusive design, HCI, usability, and education.
Inclusive Data Visualisation for People with Aphasia & Developmental Language Disorder
Exploratory study co-designing accessible data visualisation approaches with people with aphasia and developmental language disorder. Centres participatory methods to extract user needs and uncover barriers to data comprehension.
Key Activities
- Analysing qualitative data from co-design sessions with participants with aphasia and DLD
- Extracting user needs and accessibility barriers to inform design guidelines
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary research team across City & St. George's
- Setting up and running workshops with people with Aphasia and DLD with colleagues
Usability Study & White Paper — BBC R&D Interactive Application
End-to-end usability study for an interactive R&D product at the BBC. Recruited participants, designed and ran sessions, analysed data in R, and authored a white paper for the department. The research directly informed the development team's design decisions.
Deliverables
- Full usability study from recruitment to final report
- Quantitative data analysis in R
- White paper submitted to BBC R&D department
Media, Arts & Technology — HCI & Inclusive Design (Doctoral Research)
Six-year doctoral programme within EECS at Queen Mary University of London, examining intersections of human-computer interaction, participatory design, and emerging media. Awarded the EECS scholarship (2018–2023). Research positioned at the boundary between digital accessibility, creative technology, and user-centred design.
Research Areas
- HCI methods and participatory design frameworks
- Inclusive design for marginalised user groups
- Emerging media & creative computation
